Located in Saint Cast le Guildo, a seaside resort on the Emerald Coast, renowned for its seven fine sandy beaches and numerous water sports, Villa Le Clos is a bourgeois residence built at the beginning of the 20th century by Mathurin Macé and delivered in 1912 to a Parisian antique dealer to accommodate family and friends.

In 1920, Mathurin Macé bought the villa and lived there with his family until his final days. In the 1960s, the villa was successively taken over by the town of Herserange (Val d'Oise) and the town of Saint Cast le Guildo to use it as a reception and children's retreat.

Major works were undertaken in 2005 to transform the villa into an accommodation center for groups with educational projects (green classes, seaside classes, music courses, sports stays, etc.) and it has been awarded the "Tourism and Disability" label.

Now owned by a family from the region, the villa Le Clos is a venue for private receptions (weddings, birthdays, family gatherings) and group accommodation (music courses, sports trips, etc.)

Between architecture
neo-Norman and art nouveau…

Built by Mathurin Macé, the architecture of Villa le Clos is emblematic of the seaside villas of the Emerald Coast built at the beginning of the 20th century with the development of the railway and the rise of the first sea bathing resorts.

Built on solid blocks of Saint Cast granite, which give way, on the upper floors, to the lightness of the half-timbering decorated with emerald-colored ceramics, the villa le Clos is marked by the originality of its construction which required the intervention of 500 workers and craftsmen at the time.

Odorico mosaics in the vestibule, stained glass windows with art nouveau motifs, wooden wall panels, blue ceramic wall fountain, Hungarian point parquet flooring, marble slabs and cabochons, soberly molded transoms, marble fireplaces, so many details that bear witness to its vocation: to welcome family and friends with elegance and simplicity.
